Graver Family - Hays Family Photographer
I love repeat clients. Going into a session already knowing someone makes everything seem so much more comfortable....like seeing your favorite Aunt Betty at Christmas. :-)
I met the Gravers last year, and was happy to hear from them again and to photograph their family. Just a few for a sneak peek!

Thanksgiving and a Black Friday Family Session!
Last week was, of course, Thanksgiving. I spent the day with family, and for the first time in a long time, took my camera. My youngest nephew was born just about 2 months ago, so I was hoping to get some pictures of him with his great-grandparents....and I did. Although these shots aren't the greatest, I don't care and I love them. :-)
With great-grandpa George

My older nephew who was helping me....then took a break and ate most of our hard work!

On the day after Thanksgiving, when many were scouring the stores for crazy awesome Black Friday deals (okay, I'll admit...I went out for a bit!), I spent part of the afternoon shooting an extended family session. Just a few from it:

lovin' the rockstar hair!

The Jones Family - Hays Kansas Family Photographer
The Jones family is the type of family that I love to see together. Whenever I see them, I can just tell how close they are, and how much they love each other. I just love photographing these girls (and guy!)
Last year I took Miss J's baby pictures, and in the fall we did family pictures, so I was ready to see these cuties again!
Miss I...so cute, and so lovin' having her picture taken!

Man oh man, is that not a mischievous look?

I love the berets! très jolie!

I love this one of mom and her girls.

One of the whole family.

Thank you for choosing me to hang out with your family - it means a lot :-)

Extended Family - Hays Family Photographer
Earlier this week I spent some time hanging out at the beautiful FHSU campus with the Rohrs and family. In a time of iffy weather, it was really a gorgeous evening! Just a few for now......

The Johnson Family - Kansas Family Photographer
Saturday I drove to the Johnson's home for a family session, thankful we had scheduled it for that Saturday instead of the 28 degree Saturday before! As I was getting my gear out to prepare for the session, C, the little girl, was hanging out with me. She seemed quite impressed by the quantity of cameras I had!
We shot quite a few pictures on their property, then headed out to a few others. As I was getting ready to leave, C and her mom were talking to me as I packed up. C said that she was going home with me, and we asked her why she thought that. She said, "You're taking all of us home with you, in your camera!"
I had never thought about it like that, but she is right.
Every time I photograph a child, a family, a couple, a wedding, I take home a part of them with me. That is what makes this so special for me - you have chosen me to be a part of your memories...and for this I thank all of you!
And now...on to the pictures! The Johnson Family sneak peek:
I just love this one.....Big Sis and Little Bro got their cool on for me. ;-)

The little man....oh what a cutie!

Big sis!

I love their display!

Nothing like a big pile of leaves!

We had trouble persuading them to leave the leaf pile....

Quite possibly my most favorite shot from the day.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your memories!

Family at the Park
Yesterday was a great family session....the whole Carver family was together and wanted to get some family images. I always enjoy hanging out with incredibly nice, laid back, and fun people! Although it was hot out, I hope the sweat was worth it for everyone - I think it was!!!!

Grandpa wanted a shot of both boys coming down the slide...well, we tried. I kinda like it! :-)

Extended Family Session at the Park - Hays Kansas Family Photographer
This past Saturday I spent some time in the afternoon with two sisters, their families, and their parents. We had a good time, and although child cooperation levels weren't always paramount (hey, it was 95 degrees and muggy, we were all sweatin'!) I think we still got some good stuff!

I will have your gallery up VERY soon for ordering! I enjoyed meeting you all and hope everyone has safe travels home.

Sleepyhead
Little E was awake for a while, but with a little effort he was lulled into a deep sleep, the deep type of sleep that practically makes an infant putty in your hands...hence two of the following shots.
When we began the session, he wasn't sure if he wanted to have anything to do with me or my camera. It took some persuading, but I was able to get a few awake shots before he drifted off. His mother, Danielle, told me she was afraid he was already learning to fight sleep in the daytime, and I do believe she's right! E tried hard to stay awake, but he just couldn't do it.
Matt and Dani have fallen right into the parent routine and are great at their jobs. I'm so glad I got to meet your little family!

The Gravers
After numerous emails back and forth, I was excited to meet the Gravers in person...and they exceeded all my expectations! What a fun family...and they are professionals at having family pictures taken. ;-) We even got a couple with the family dog (because hey, he's a part of the family, right?)
I really enjoyed meeting all of you!

Mr. J's blond curls
J not only has the cutest blonde curls I've ever seen, but he also has incredible eyes! Mom and dad, I predict you'll be beating the girls off with a stick in about 17 years!!! Team those features up with some super adorable overalls......you've got quite the little man.
I am so happy for you and your family.... and your little man is so sweet!

Until next time!
~K
