Yesterday was the last day of the workshop. We spent the day inside, discussing Photoshop techniques and tips, as well an inspirational discussion about why TriCoast does what they do. It was very moving and excited me to be the best photographer I can be.
When we wrapped up at about 5:30 after a lot of goodbyes, it was snowing! Luckily the snow wasn't falling once I got about 30 miles out of Denver, unfortunately it took almost an hour to get out of Denver thanks to an accident. I thought it would be smooth sailing from there on, but I didn't realize Kansas was overrun with thunderstorms, so I had the pleasure of driving through lighting and rain. :) I was thankful to be back in good ol' Hays, America in one piece!
I truly enjoyed the workshop and feel I learned alot, and solidified some knowledge I already had. It was also fabulous to be able to work with and meet so many talented people. Jordan of TriCoast blogged about our workshop on the
TriCoast blog.Labels: learning
Well, I just finished up the second day of the workshop. Today was a little more shooting and discussion of marketing, among other things. We talked the gorgeous Suzy into a wedding dress and had a good time shooting. We also were able to experiment with different gear, from camera straps to wireless transmitters.
A few images from the day...

Today has been a BUSY day! I was VERY excited to meet the people of
TriCoast in the flesh. The day started with my leaving Hays around 7:45 a.m. to make the somewhat boring drive out West. Upon arrival, I was maybe just a bit nervous, having never driven in Denver, but it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Actually, I didn't have any trouble navigating! (Thank goodness for Google Maps, ya know?) We started out the afternoon going over some basics, then split up in 4 groups and got to shooting. A few shots from the afternoon:

We took a short dinner break at Patrick Carroll's, a cute little place with a pub-like atmosphere, then we headed out to do some video light shooting, which was a first for me:

I must say I'm exhausted as I post this, but this day has been totally worth the sunburn I've acquired! :)
